Stand-Up Comedy Workshop Gavin Baskerville's popular workshop, Stand-Up Comedy for Beginners and the Terrified, is on again in Hobart! Professional comedian Gavin Baskerville has been teaching stand-up comedy for several years, to high school students, Adult Education course participants, and a wide range of other people who are keen to learn more about the 'finer art' of stand-up comedy. After more than a decade working in the Australian comedy industry, Gavin has seen it all - the good, the bad and the ugly - and now you can benefit from his experience and expertise in a workshop setting. This session explores everything from writing jokes and creating routines to performance techniques and effective stagecraft. The workshop is designed to inspire, motivate and challenge you. The venue - The venue will be in/near the Hobart CBD and will be confirmed during January 2012. - Full directions will be provided to participants via email before the day of the workshop. The structure of the workshop: - The workshop will start at 10am and finish at 2pm. - It will include a short morning tea break (refreshments provided) and a half-hour BYO lunchbreak. - It will be limited to 16 participants. - Workshop highlights will include learning to write your own jokes, learning about how comedians 'do what they do', turning your life experiences into comedy routines, learning from a professional comedian with extensive festival, corporate and club performing experience, and kick-starting your own comedy career.
