YOUNG UNIFEM PERTH INFORMS LEARNING IN LAOS: THE DEVELOPING WORLD'S EDUCATIONAL CHALLENGE

ABOUT: Come along to the launch of Young UNIFEM Perth's Spring Campaign, which will be raising funds for UNIFEM's non-formal women's education program in Laos. This program aims to address the serious illiteracy rate in Laos, which particularly affects young women due to issues of poverty and concerns about their safety.

Hear from Alison Bullock, Co-ordinator of the One World Centre who will discuss her experiences working to effect educational change in Laos, and Julius Susanto, who has just returned home from a volunteering stint with Engineers Without Borders in Laos, working at the Laos Institute for Renewable Energy.

These two fantastic speakers will talk about the opportunities available for you to make a difference through overseas volunteering programs. This event is a must for anyone interested in aid & development work and policy.

Nibbles and refreshments provided. Remember to bring your business card to go into the UNIFEM Business Card Draw - you could win some fabulous prizes!
