Significant Persons Day (8A - 8E)

Wednesday 17 June 2026
The Significant Persons Project for Year 8 students is a substantial part of the semester’s curriculum. This project spans the Arts, English and Language faculties and is intended to allow students to identify and pay homage to a significant person in their lives. Students have chosen a range of people to be their significant person: parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts, coaches and teachers. In English, students have written a reflective piece of writing about their chosen person that was inspired by that person’s character. In their Arts subjects, students have created sculptures, paintings and dramatic interpretations that symbolise their significant person. In Language, students create buntings with information about their person in French or Indonesian. You are invited to attend the celebration afternoon, along with your child’s significant person, or proxy. This afternoon is an opportunity for the school community to celebrate the students’ achievements, and allow the students to publicly acknowledge and thank their significant person. The afternoon will include a presentation and tour of the gallery to view the art works while enjoying a light afternoon tea.
