About
We are looking forward to presenting our first concert of 2025 in the season of Matariki. The Cecilian Singers will perform a programme inspired by Hiwaiterangi, sometimes called the ‘wishing star’. She shines in answer to our dreams and aspirations for the year to come. With the help of Mister Sandman, Renaissance Madrigals, songs by Aotearoa composers Adams, Gordon and Childs, we make entreaties for love, peace, joy and wise decisions from our children (that they might not rather be a mule, a pig or a fish!).As well as our regular accompanist, Sarah Kang, we are joined by talented young pianist Aoi Tsunemi from Villa Maria College, and Sarah McCracken, Assistant Concertmaster/Acting Concertmaster with the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra since 2016.
