Fill your 'Knowledge Basket' with the Ahuriri Estuary Protection Society and friends!Come along for a special evening with several specialists who will present to you about Te Whanganui-a-Orotū (Ahuriri Estuary), it's inhabitants, it's challenges and it's history.
Following the success of last year's event, we have some exciting different topics to cover, a new venue and promise to fill your Knowledge Baskets with new (or renewed) information and an ability to make positive environmental change for our taonga.
This event is open to all; community, friends, interested people and society members (Membership $5 per annum).
Speakers this year will cover :-
- A general background of Te Whanganui-a-Orotū (Ahuriri Estuary);
- A kids' perspective on fundraising for threatened estuarine species;
- Terrestrial ecology of the estuary & its importance as a wetland
- The positive changes of land management and riparian buffers, and how you can help
