LyCiG for Society Parishes
About
A FREE conference for Society parishes interested in growing their church in numbers, in spiritual commitment and in service to their local community.LyCiG conferences have been deployed across the mixed ecology of the Church of England: with demonstrable success in different churches in a variety of contexts. Experience shows that LyCiG conferences bear most fruit when attended by a small group from each participating church or parish. This might include clergy, lay leaders, evangelists and youth and children's workers, with perhaps a split of one member of clergy and two members of the laity. PLEASE NOTE: a minimun of two attendees from each parish should attend.
The LyCiG Conference in Walsingham in early February is exclusively for Society priests and parishes. Whilst the course will essentially be the same as Diocesan run courses, the difference will be that all delegates will hold to Catholic teaching and practice, and the course schedule will of course allow for a daily Mass.
Leading your Church into Growth isn’t just a one-off impactful event, but also a transformative process that changes church culture.
Follow-on sessions are designed to help teams continue to cultivate hope and prayer in their parish and embed their learning across their specific contexts. As part of the follow-up, LyCiG resources are made available for leaders to deploy locally to inspire and equip more members of their church or parish.
Important: There is no cost for members of the clergy and laity to attend the conference, accommodation and meals will be provided for the duration of the conference, which will commence on Sunday evening (8th) and conclude of Tuesday afternoon (10th). However, to book your place(s), a £100 deposit is required. This will be fully refundable following participation at the conference.
