Redcatch Community Garden is a Community Benefit Society (CBS) with charitable status and a member of Cooperatives UK. A CBS operates on a not-for-profit basis for all purposes and has aims that benefit the whole community. It is democratically managed by its members and board. We seek to engage with and respond to the needs of our communities.

For 2-5 year olds and their grown-ups! £8 per child, per workshop.

Fancy getting creative this festive season by making something truly unique and personal and sustainable?
We are now taking bookings for our annual Christmas Wreath Making workshops.
Sunday 7th December 10-12 & 2-4
Tuesday 9th December 6-8pm
You will be provided with a beautiful willow base, or if you have your own from a previous workshop you are welcome to bring it. You will be guided through how to decorate with sustainably sourced, seasonal foliage, everlasting flowers, pinecones carefully selected natural festival decorations.
To help get the festive mood in full swing, Christmas tunes, homemade festive treats and spiced mulled cider will accompany us – a perfect festive setting!
Workshops will be held in our beautiful Canopy structure.
Workshops are £35 per person.

There are 2 sessions to book:
10.00-11:00 - Mini Beast mansions
Where do insects take shelter? Where is their home and what do they need? Learn about their behaviour and build a bug hotel to take home with you.
In this hands-on activity, you will learn where minibeasts hide to avoid predators and raise their young ones and how we can help them stay safe.
11.30-12.30 - Alien adventures
Is there alien life somewhere out there in the Universe? What would these aliens look like? Where would they live? Explore planets outside our Solar System and create your very own alien to live on one of them in this hands-on making activity.
Aimed at children aged 5-12.

Put on your dancing shoes and strut your stuff to Decades Disco Tunes from the 60s, 70s and 80s! All levels of boogie welcome - from two-stepper to disco diva!
Earlybird tickets (online) are £5 and there will be limited tickets available on the door for £6.
Licensed bar serving alcohol, softs and snacks available!

Our partnership with We The Curious continues this Easter holiday! 🐰
Join them at the Garden on Friday 11th April for Alien Adventure and Stomp Rockets.
This is a combined, rolling drop-in activity for over 5s. Alien Adventures explores what alien life might look like on worlds outside our solar system and using imagination to build potential alien creatures through. Stomp Rockets is a rocket making activity when we engineer paper rockets and launch them into the air with the help of plastic bottles and tubing.
10.30-12:00pm
Aimed at children aged 5-12.
Accompanied children only - all children need a ticket.
Adults do not need a ticket.
This is a free event but donations to the Garden are very welcome! 💚

You will be guided through how to decorate with seasonal & sustainably sourced, foliage, everlasting flowers, pinecones & carefully selected natural festival decorations.
To help get the festive mood in full swing, Christmas tunes, homemade festive treats and spiced mulled cider will accompany us – a perfect festive setting!
Workshops will be held in our beautiful Canopy structure.

A fun, creative and safe way of trying out printing. You draw/score into sheets of styrofoam with a pencil, ink it up with poster paint and foam rollers and you can make several prints with it.
Make stamps to print with, or a bigger image that you can ink up with poster paint and foam rollers to make prints with. We will have pre cut foam shapes you can choose from, or you can cut
your own shapes out of sheets of foam.

Graft Graffiti Workshops (CANCELLED)
Monday 23 October 2023
Graft are back at the Community Garden to share some insights into the graffiti and street art scene from New York to Bristol and beyond, and to teach some hands-on graffiti skills. They will help you to come up with your own graffiti name, try out lettering techniques, and create a graffiti name board using paint markers. Minimum age 8, under-14s must be supervised by a parent or carer. Additional needs welcome.

Styrofoam Printing
Thursday 24th Aug 10 - 11am
A fun, creative and safe way of trying out printing. You draw/score into sheets of styrofoam with a pencil, ink it up with poster paint and foam rollers and you can make several prints with it.
Foam Stamp & Printing
Thursday 31st Aug 10 - 11am
Make stamps to print with, or a bigger image that you can ink up with poster paint and foam rollers to make prints with. We will have pre cut foam shapes you can choose from, or you can cut your own shapes out of sheets of foam.
We will use the plants in the Garden for inspiration. All materials provided. We will have some additional activities available if you finish before the end of the workshop.

Fancy getting creative this festive season by making something truly unique and personal and sustainable?
Come to Redcatch Community Garden and make your own Christmas wreath.
You will be shown how to make a willow-based wreath using seasonal foliage with some carefully selected natural festive decorations. To help get the festive mood in full swing, Christmas tunes, homemade festive treats and spiced mulled cider will accompany us – a perfect festive setting!
Workshops will be held in our beautiful Canopy structure
Workshops are £30 per person.

Spooky Garden Cooks

Become a Garden Cook, pick and cook a delicious, nutritious lunch at the lovely Community Garden.
Join Chef Holly for a spooky themed Garden Cooks cookery class during which we will make a pumpkin soup and spooky ghost flatbreads! Children will walk around the Garden to smell and pick herbs to flavour their food and enjoy chopping (child safe knives), mixing, kneading, stretching. Bring an Apron if you'd like one and prepare to get a bit messy!
Suitable for children aged 6-12. Children over 8yrs can be dropped off, by a parent filling in a form on arrival so please allow extra time for this. 6-8 yrs cannot be left and will need adult to stay throughout the session.
This is a vegetarian meal containing dairy and gluten, please email holly@redcatchcg.com if you have dietary requirements

Your chance to enjoy a lovely three course meat or vegan meal made by our Head Chef Holly Perreau Redfern and the team showcasing some of our own produce and other local suppliers in the fantastic Canopy in the beautiful setting of the Community Garden. This is a BYO event, dinner will be served at 7.30pm, there will be heating in the Canopy but you may want to bring a coat or knee blanket just in case.

Join Jenny from Happymess for a series of six experimental printmaking workshops. We will be outdoors (under a marquee), in a socially distanced, small group. Suitable for beginners/intermediate. Equipment and materials for lino cutting, monoprinting, dry-point etching and rubber stamp carving will be available each week so that people can explore any of these techniques as they choose.
