BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL
As a professional comedian and co-producer of Hobart’s Jokers Comedy Club, Gavin Baskerville has more than a decade's experience in teaching stand-up comedy - to Adult Education course participants, students, corporate groups and a wide range of other people who are keen to learn more about the 'finer art' of stand-up comedy.
After more than twenty years as a comedy performer, writer and producer in the Australian comedy industry, including several years performing onboard cruise ships (though he's currently 'on a break' from that ...), Gavin has seen it all – the good, the bad and the ugly – and now you can benefit from his experience and expertise in a workshop setting.
This introductory workshop explores everything from writing jokes and creating routines to performance techniques and effective stagecraft. The workshop is suitable for new or inexperienced comedians, wannabe comedians, and anyone who wants to find ways to bring more humour into the way they work or perform (including teachers, actors, public speakers etc).
Registration fee includes:
- Five workshop sessions (Tuesday evenings, 22 June - 20 July inclusive)
- Course notes
- Performance opportunity in the graduate show (27 July)
- Free tickets to selected Jokers Comedy shows during June and July
COVID-safe distancing and hygiene precautions and procedures will be in place at all times - participants will receive more information about this before the first session.
