The solicitor will review your completed form & ask for additional information if required.
After the appointment the Solicitor will contact you to arrange signing the completed Will at their office. This is typically a few weeks after the event.
We are also happy to give you information about leaving a gift to The Salvation Army.

Preparing a Will is very important. It ensures the people who matter most in your life are taken care of. Without a Will, your estate is distributed according to a legal formula. This might mean your assets don’t end up being distributed according to your wishes.
That’s why The Salvation Army’s Wills Days are so important.
We would be grateful if you would please consider including a charitable gift (bequest) in your Will to enable The Salvation Army to help those in need.

How does it work?
Honoured Friend Solicitors assist the community by donating their time to help people prepare a 'Simple' Will. A Simple Will is one that leaves the person’s entire estate to their spouse or to their children, equally, without a trust. The Solicitor will be able to advise whether your Will is simple, and if not, they can advise you and you might have to pay an additional cost to have it written.
- The cost for a Simple Will is $70 per person (or $120 for a couple) plus online booking fee of $0.50. These proceeds are donated to The Salvation Army.
- The appointment is with a qualified Solicitor who will review your completed form and ask for any additional information.
- Duration of appointments is 30 minutes.
Do I need to bring ID with me?
Yes, please bring proof of identification.
Do I have to leave a gift (bequest) to The Salvation Army?
There is no obligation to leave a gift to The Salvation Army, but we would appreciate you giving consideration to this. Please see how bequests change lives and change lives with a gift in your Will.
Do I need to appoint The Salvation Army as the Executor of my estate?
No. There is no requirement to do this.
What is the Honoured Friend Program?
By leaving a gift in your Will to The Salvation Army you will be joining a group of like-minded individuals who, like yourself, are committed to ensuring that the kindness and compassion you have lived by will go on helping others now and in the future. You’ll have the option to leave your Will with The Salvation Army for safe-keeping.

You will receive invitations to special functions, tours and access to many of the programs we run for the Australian community.
