This 20hr 2 day IN-PERSON TCTSY Foundation Workshop will introduce you to the core concepts and applications of the highly regarded, evidence based yoga intervention TCTSY for adults and youth affected by PTSD, CPTSD, developmental and/or complex trauma, dissociative disorders and other related emotional and behavioural difficulties. Developed at the Trauma Center since 2003, a part of the Justice Resource Institute, JRI since 2006 & the flagship program of the Center for Trauma and Embodiment at JRI.

This workshop is interactive and is intended to inspire yoga teachers to make their classes more trauma-informed and to support those working in the mental health field to bring the body into treatment when working with people affected by PTSD, developmental, and/or complex trauma.

You will be introduced to specific practices and principles to support you to facilitate movement and breath work that are trauma informed, including an introduction to:

Workshop Delivery
An exciting interactive learning environment that is 2 days in-person with extra pre-workshop recorded material that is yours to keep! You will receive:
- - 2 days of in-person training with Licensed TCTSY Trainers (currently only 20 worldwide)
- - Over 7.5 hours of content to review and keep. Includes: powerpoint slide handouts, nearly 4 hours of pre-workshop video content (including David Emerson and Jenn Turner training videos, trauma sensitive yoga practice videos from TCTSY Trainers and more), TCTSY scripts, written resource material and links
Pre-recorded material will be provided to you one week prior to the workshop on May 1, 2021.
In-person: Saturday May 8 and Sunday May 9, 2021 9:30 to 5.30pm. This workshop is self catered with tea/coffee and water available throughout the day.
Facilitated by Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and TCTSY Facilitator, Supervisor, and Licenced Trainer Edwina Kempe, this workshop is the only Trauma-Sensitive Yoga Workshop/training in QLD accredited by the Center for Trauma and Embodiment and David Emerson and fulfills part of the prior learning requirements for entrance into the 300hr Certification Program in TCTSY.

PLEASE NOTE: THIS WORKSHOP SATISFIES ONE OF THE PRE-REQUISITES FOR APPLICANTS OF THE CENTER FOR TRAUMA AND EMBODIMENT AT JRI'S 300-HOUR TRAUMA CENTER TRAUMA-SENSITIVE YOGA (TCTSY) CERTIFICATION PROGRAM FOR YOGA TEACHERS, MENTAL HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS, AND PEOPLE WORKING WITH INDIVIDUALS AND COMMUNITIES THAT HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA TO BE HELD ANNUALLY LIVE ONLINE AND PRE-REORDED ONLINE FROM SEPTEMBER TO APRIL.
THIS 20HR WORKSHOP PROVIDES IAYT AND YA MEMBERS CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS OF 18HRS AND 20HRS RESPECTIVELY. MOST PARTICIPANTS CAN CLAIM HOURS FROM THE WORKSHOP AS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT VIA THEIR REGISTRATION/MEMBERSHIP BODIES.
THIS WORKSHOP IS SOLELY FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND IS NOT A CERTIFICATE PROGRAM: TO BE CERTIFIED IN TCTSY COMPLETION OF THE 300HR TCTSY CERTIFICATION IS REQUIRED. THIS WORKSHOP IS ALSO NOT INTENDED AS AN INTERVENTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA. TALKING ABOUT TRAUMA, EVEN IN THE CONTEXT OF A PROFESSIONAL TRAINING CAN BE TRIGGERING/OVERWHELMING.
