LECTURE - LOOKING AT THE CARTE DE VISITE & CABINET CARD
This illustrated lecture tells the story of the carte de visite and (later the) larger cabinet card. They were popular of photographic formats in the second half of the 19th century and were essentially the same in process and design (normally albumen prints). The main difference being the cabinet card was larger and usually included extensive logos and featured advertising for the photographer on the reverse side of the card. They fell out of favour as other types of papers were introduced
