2021 Africa Day Australia Gala Dinner (SOLD OUT)
The Africa Day Australia (Melbourne) Committee cordially invites you to attend the Africa Day Australia Gala Dinner on 22 May 2021. A glamorous evening, and the ending of our month long activities celebrating the founding of the African Union (formerly Organisation of African Unity) on 25 May 1963. Each year, Africa Day is celebrated around the world, as African Liberation Day in partnership with the United Nations, the African Union and Non-Government and community organisations.
In Australia, Africa Day is our opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity that our African heritage contributes to Australia. We celebrate our successes, acknowledge the economic benefits that we bring to Australia and encourage our continued empowerment within the Australian society.
Note: The venue for this year's Africa Day Australia gala dinner is the iconic Melbourne Town Hall. Completed in 1870, the Melbourne Town Hall is at the heart of the city's cultural and civic activity, hosting theatre, weddings, receptions and exhibitions.
