River procession Workshop with Make or Break Collective
River Procession Workshop
Join artist collective Make or Break for a workshop that incorporates walking, talking, observing and performing. Participants will form a procession to walk a long soft sculpture from Lismore Regional Gallery to a spot on the Wilsons River. Here, we will work in small groups to listen and respond to the river in experimental and creative ways. Learning and thinking from non-human perspectives is a way to start re-imagining our collective futures.
This workshop is open to all ages, but people under 16 must come with a supervising adult. The workshop is free but bookings are essential and there are limited places, so please let us know in advance if you can no longer attend. This workshop will be postponed if it is raining or too wet.
Access info: This workshop involves walking or rolling approximately 20 mins each way from Lismore Regional Gallery to the river and back, along a wheelchair accessible route. We will be working together on a grassy area. Please dress comfortably. Participation in carrying the soft sculpture is optional. Please contact us in advance if you would like to discuss access needs.
