Novel Approaches to Managing Wellbeing in the Workplace
Join us as guest speakers, Dean Noonan and Dr. Trent Watson share with us new and effective approaches to managing wellbeing and the risks associated with not proactively managing it.
Dean Noonan, Director ‑ Performance and Wellbeing from Check5 will provide a snapshot of a performance and wellbeing program designed to assist the transition of management teams to high quality coaching standards. Whilst focused on individual Wellbeing, the content is derived from a performance model that is familiar in elite sport and improves performance in several areas. Beyond a box ticking activity, the model applies the principles of Coaching, Ownership, and Skill acquisition process. Using this, organisations can demonstrate pro-active management in wellbeing of people, with accountable data in meeting obligations and governance.
Dr. Trent Watson, CEO of Ethos Health, will demonstrate a tool that easily implements a workplace fatigue risk management system. Fatigue is often identified as a workplace health and safety risk, particularly in shift working and high-intensity roster work environments. Where fatigue-related risk in the workplace is identified, it is a legislative requirement to ensure the health and safety of people in the workplace through the implementation of risk mitigation strategies. The FatigueTech App is designed to operationalise an organisations Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) by:
- Providing best practice assessment and communication tools for workers and their leaders to follow a systematic process to implement the organisation’s FRMS;
- Providing a tool for organisations and workers to fulfill their duty of care in regard to fatigue risk management; and
- Providing organisations with a real time data collection tool so fatigue related data can be used to monitor compliance and effectiveness of the organisation’s FRMS; and help design, adapt and enhance fatigue management practices and solutions.
