The King of the Accordion
A collection of creative works originally commissioned by New England Regional Art Museum in 1995 for an exhibition curated by former NERAM Director Joe Eisenberg. In 2021 we revisit this exhibition which includes the novella, ‘The King of the Accordion’, written by Anna Maria Dell’oso as well as thirteen artworks, each a unique response by an artist to the novella.
Simon Scott: I See You
Esteemed local photographer Simon Scott has had a wide and varied career. A constant stream throughout his practice has been photographic portraiture. ‘I See You’ captures some fine examples of Scott’s portraiture including images taken in Africa as well as closer to home such as his porch portraits series and members of Armidale’s Ezidi community.
The Blade: Australia’s Love Affair with Lawn
‘The Blade: Australia’s love affair with lawn’, explores Australia’s love of lawn and how both plant and the mowing of it gained such enduring popularity.
A Carrick Hill National Touring Exhibition, supported by the Australia Garden History Society, and curated by Richard Heathcote, ‘The Blade’, showcases more than 100 hand tools associated with lawn maintenance, along with tools used by Aboriginal Australians who initially used fire as a tool for grass management. The show also includes 12 historic lawn mowers dating from 1869.
We look forward to seeing you there.
