After The Glitz & Glam – Cabaret
After the Glitz and Glam is a collaboration with the ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTQI Network. The project explores the intersections of culture, gender, and sexuality, and the ongoing racism, homophobia, and transphobia faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander LGBTIQA+ performers. Through a cabaret performance and a panel discussion the project asks, what happens after the curtain closes, the lights go down, and the make-up comes off?
Is visibility enough, or is there more work to be done? What does it mean to be queer in a First Nations cultural context? Starring some of Australia’s finest First Nations Drag performers – MadB, Miss Josie, Anna’Mal Tuckerbox and Chel Torres.
