3HR WORKSHOP FOR EDUCATORS: TEACHING SOCIAL SKILLS
This module is suitable for educators & support staff working at Primary level or ELC years.
The objective of this module is to give a better understanding of why social skills are important & what strategies can be used to teach them to an ASD child. You will also learn how to do a social skills assessment; how to prioritise which skills to teach; and how to choose a replacement behaviour.
Topics covered include: Teaching and maintaning social skills (within and outside the classroom), Braking down and teaching social skills, teaching streategies
This 3HR workshop is aligned with the ‘Australian Professional Standards for Teachers’ and can contribute towards VIT annual renewal requirements.
Training is delivered livestream via ZOOM.
