Our Aladdin is based closely on the original story from One Thousand and One Nights. It is the classic rags to riches middle eastern story featuring a young hero, a beautiful princess, an evil villain and a genie or two. The stories were first introduced to Europe in 1704 by Antoine Galland; Aladdin and His Wonderful Lamp has been translated and adapted many times since 1704. Its continued re-telling’s are a testament to the story’s ability to inspire and entertain generations.
