Join the QLD Advisory Panel
The QLD Advisory Panel is made up of a maximum of 11 volunteer members. Panel Members represent the RAD members in QLD, and provide advice and support to the Regional Management team in relation to RAD activity and events throughout the year. Being on the panel is a great way to meet other RAD members, be part of a supportive community, and contribute to the success of the RAD in QLD. Panel members are elected for a three year term and are expected to attend meetings which take place monthly, over 8 months of the year (can attend via Zoom if not living locally), and also volunteer at the various RAD events and activities that run throughout the year. Being on the Panel is extremely rewarding, and we encourage regional members to consider joining...
Outgoing Panel Member, Chelsea Clark-Spresser says,
'Teaching dancing - especially when you work for yourself - can be a lonely business and the sometimes-competitive nature of our industry makes it hard to connect with other local teachers.
'Joining the Regional Advisory Panel opened up a community of like-minded teachers who I now count as friends. Having this network of fellow ballet teachers and studio owners means there’s always a team of people to ask for advice on everything from business operations to teaching strategies.
'Being able to give back to the dance community as a whole is an added bonus. I remember days spent in RAD holiday workshops and events when I was a student and now being part of providing these opportunities to young dancers, is so rewarding.''
Members who are RAD Registered Teachers or RAD Member Plus are welcome to be nominated to join the QLD Advisory Panel if there are vacancies. If there are more nominations than there are vacancies, then members will vote for their incoming Panel member(s) electronically prior to the AGM (or at the AGM if they haven't done so already), and the elected members will be announced at the AGM. If we receive the same number of nominations as vacancies, then everyone who is nominated can be accepted.
If you would like to be nominated or if you would like to nominate someone else, please read the Terms of Reference here and complete the nomination form here. Please note:
- The nominee must be a financial member of the RAD
- The nominee must be a RAD RTS or RAD Member Plus and be over 18 years of age.
- The nomination must be made by a different financial member (not the nominee) and seconded by another financial member of the RAD
Nominations are due by Tuesday 18 January. The nominee, the person nominating and the seconder must all be current RAD financial members. If you have questions, you can find more information on the website here or please reach out.
Attend the AGM
This year RAD members can attend the AGM in person or via Zoom (especially for those members who are further away or unable to attend in person we'd love to see you there on Zoom).
For those attending in person, tickets are free, and a light morning tea is provided with an opportunity to network and chat with other members, following the formal proceedings.
Please note, there are a limited number of tickets available to attend in person, so please register early to avoid disappointment.
COVID-19 Update - This venue has advised that from 17 December 2021, entry to Victoria Park Function Centre will be restricted to only those who are fully vaccinated or have a medical exception. If you are 16 years or over, you will need to carry proof of your vaccination status and be prepared to show this on arrival at the venue. The QLD Government App will be able to be used to check this status on arrival to the venue. As this is a QLD Government mandate Victoria Park must comply. We encourage members to attend via Zoom if they are unable to attend in person.
