SpineCare 2022
About
SpineCare 2022 is a multidisciplinary webinar and clinical training program aiming to enhance evidence-based knowledge and pragmatic clinical skills of physiotherapists who treat people with spinal pain.
This course consists of ten, weekly, multidisciplinary webinars and five virtual/face-to-face sessions. Webinars are presented by Royal Melbourne Hospital neurosurgery, orthopaedics, rheumatology, pain management and physiotherapy disciplines. The virtual training sessions are led by Dr Robert Laird, specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist, coordinator of the RMH Rheumatology Back Assessment Clinic and Dr David Kelly, University of Melbourne, Lecturer in the Department of Physiotherapy. The virtual training sessions will include small group sessions with a 1:8 ratio to enhance exercise and problem-solving skills in a virtual environment. A face-to-face option for manual skill growth will also be available as an additional component.
The course is interactive and facilitates integration into clinical practice, using quizzes, manual therapy training, motor control, individualized exercise prescription, and case studies.
The course runs over 12 weeks (allowing two weeks for school holidays), with webinars planned for Monday evenings 6.45-8pm, starting on May 9th (the first webinar on the 9th will start at 6pm). The fortnightly virtual training sessions start on 19th May, Thursday from 3-6pm. Manual therapy options will be discussed at the start of the course.
