Artists Talk | Portraiture, Prizes and Me.Wendy Sharpe is one of Australia's most acclaimed and awarded artists. In this lively, informative, illustrated talk, she will share her experience as a figurative painter with a career stretching back to the 1980s. Wendy will discuss her work as a finalist and winner in a long list of art prizes. She will also give a rare behind the scenes insight into her extensive experience as a judge of many art prizes. There will be plenty of time for discussion and questions!
Workshop | Art Materials: an introduction.
Wendy Sharpe will give a practical talk about art materials and their qualities. She will discuss oil and acrylic paint techniques and will demonstrate the use of gouache, pastel and other drawing materials. Wendy will also bring some private sketchbooks to give an insight into how she designs paintings. It will be a great opportunity to learn and ask the questions you have always wanted the answers to! Participants should bring a notebook. You won't be painting but might like to make notes.
