Writing a synopsis is one of the most important skills to master if you want to get an editor or agent interested enough to request your full manuscript. First impressions count - and impressing an editor or agent depends on it.

RWAust members only. All membership categories are eligible (Aspiring, Emerging and Established). Novel or novella manuscript (10K+) for which synopsis is written must not be commercially available/contracted.

Preliminary judging is by writers. The six highest scoring entries will proceed to the final.

Novellas/short novels (10K–65K): 2 pages single spaced (max)
Long novels (65K+): 3 pages single spaced (max)
