Klezmer Workshop with the London Klezmer Quartet and Ernie Gruner
WHEN: Tuesday 26 March, 19.00-21.45
WHAT: A 100% participatory workshop
with the London Klezmer Quartet and Melbourne's own Ernie Gruner where you can learn klezmer tunes, dances, and
more about the interaction between the two. You'll have the chance to learn the celebratory
and soulful music of Jewish eastern Europe, focusing on melody, rhythm and
‘groove’, as well as dance steps.
The workshop caters for instrumentalists and dancers – and for people who would like to do both! All instruments and ages welcome. People with an interest in folk dancing but who don't play an
instrument are very welcome. Musicians should be comfortable playing their instruments and be able to find notes with ease.
Last year this workshop was oversubscribed...places are limited so book early to avoid disappointment.
In any case please book by Wednesday 20th March.
