Animation using Godot for beginners
ECU's School of Science: Computing and Security invite high school students to join us for a day of coding. The program will take you through game design and development. At the end of the day you should have created a fun little game for yourself! We will be using Godot to create 2D characters that can move around a space such as an endless dungeon.
What the day looks like
9:00 - Registrations, logging onto computers setting up Godot
9:15 - Creating scenery
10:30 - break
11:00 - Creating characters
12:30 - lunch
1:00 - Creating and developing your game
3:00 – hometime
Date: Wednesday 5th October
Location: ECU Joondalup campus - School of Science Building 18. We will be working out of the computer labs located on Level 1. Registrations will also be on the first floor
Session times: - 9:00 to 3:00pm
Cost: $15
BYO Morning tea and lunch - At this stage please bring along your own food (lunch and morning tea) and water bottles. We can pop some foods in the fridge if need be. We have water filling stations on level
Parking and drop off: Please park at visitor car park 14, where you can park and come in to drop off your child/children. The entrance is Deakin off Lakeside Drive. See Google Maps for directions
On the day: We will be taking photos during the day so please ensure you tick or cross the photo permission box on the registration form. Parents and/or guardians are invited to come and view what we have created from 2:45pm onwards.
