This is an evidence-based program designed for the benefit of all legal practitioners.
This workshop will assist you to learn mindfulness strategies and techniques that will improve both your physical and mental wellness, particularly to reduce stress levels and improve resilience so you become clearer, calmer and more focused both at home and in the workplace.
In Part I - Mindfullness Matters - Rebecca will explain the concept of mindfulness and offer the latest research around the benefits of the practice such as decreasing anxiety and depression and improving sleep. You will be instructed on several different practices of mindfulness such as meditation, breathing, and stretching, and will receive tips and guidance on how and when to practice during the day to ensure success to create these new good habits. You will learn very practical techniques and strategies to cope with stress, to regulate emotions, to heal past hurts, and to embrace change which empower them to take action to increase your mental health and fitness.
In Part II - Learning to Breathe Better - you will learn that to change the way you breathe will change your life! You will learn the basic science around breathing and why learning to breathe better is important. You will be guided through a variety of basic breathing practices and techniques that will introduce you to the power of the breath to improve mental and physical health. Breathing is a powerful, readily available relaxation tool that can divert the acute stress response and return the nervous system to its relaxed, restful state. A regular practice of breathing exercises has been shown to reduce anxiety, high blood pressure, depression, PTSD, anger, tension and chronic pain.
In Part III - Path To Happiness - Rebecca will provide the latest evidence-based research on factors that contribute to happiness as determined by the fields of neuroscience and positive psychology. She will introduce the top 8 factors that most influence overall personal happiness, such as cultivating positivity and practicing gratitude, and will offer you practical strategies on how to boost the hormones of happiness and contentment daily. Research clearly indicates that we can override the brain's default mechanisms towards negativity and become happier people.
