Children of the Black Skirt (SOLD OUT)
About
Performances-May 5-7Three lost children stumble across an abandoned orphanage in the bush. They try on the dusty items of clothing they find in the dormitories and become trapped in a timeless world haunted by spirits from the past. The children work together to hear the history to be told and to help release the spirits from the torment of the cruel governess, The Black Skirt. Will they be able to release them all before she floats back down the corridor wielding her enormous scissors? This gothic fairytale for young people tells a history of our local region and other parts of Australia through the eyes of children. Playwrite, Angela Betzein, from Rockhampton was inspired by local history to write this well-known and educational text.
Directed by Amanda Hock, this project is delivered with the support of RADF.
