About
The Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) model of care has been running successfully at Barwon Health for over fifteen years. MGP offers individualised, woman-centred care with a small team of midwives. We provide care throughout pregnancy and for two weeks following birth.
We are excited to announce the commencement of MGP publicly funded homebirth program starting January 2024.
Our MGP midwives and multidiscipline team are excited to support women who are deemed to be ‘low risk’ of developing pregnancy or birth-related complications to birth at home.
Eligibility to birth at home is assessed at initial contact and in an ongoing manner throughout pregnancy in collaboration with our obstetric colleagues.
