Mid-week retreat. Facilitator: Revd Dennis Webster. Our journey with and in Christ is a continuous pilgrimage in which we encounter the Lord through our relationships with others, the community, and nature. In Christ, the
song of creation is renewed, inviting us into the beautiful mystery of connection, courage, and joy. Following Eata, the first Abbot of Melrose and Bishop of Hexham, we journey gently through the week, guided by inspiring readings and psalms. We reflect on Jacob seeing his brother fresh, Isaiah embracing his calling anew, and Solomon recognising his vocation anew. Mary Magdalene also sees Christ in a new light, and the disciples are given eyes to truly see.
All of this is thoughtfully woven into the Northumbrian Community’s daily prayer cycle, inspired by one of the most passionate and peace-promoting Celtic bishops. Through scripture, silence, worship and shared conversation, we will listen for God’s voice through Encounter, Transformation, Recognition and Return.
