Audition Workshop with Jackson Head
An Open Class — Students & Non-Students Welcome!
Auditions can be nerve-wracking, whether it's your first or your fiftieth. This special open class with professional musical theatre performer Jackson Head is designed to take the fear out of the room — and put the fun back in.
Jackson has performed over 900 shows as Gaston in Disney's Beauty and the Beast Australian and International Tour. He knows exactly what it takes to walk into an audition room with confidence, and he's ready to share it with you.
In this 90-minute session you'll learn real theatre audition etiquette — what to do from the moment you arrive to the moment you step up to perform. You'll have the opportunity to present your own audition piece to be workshopped in a supportive group environment, and walk away with fresh vocal and acting tools to take your performance further.
Bring with you:
⭐ A prepared audition song cut (30 seconds to 1 minute, with backing track)
⭐ Sheet music ( (if you can, and as you would prepare it for your audition - we won't have an accompanist, but all professional auditions require sheet music, so it's a good practice to prepare it now so that you have it on hand)
⭐ The shoes you'd wear to the real thing (it's amazing what they contribute to your performance!)
⭐ An idea of what show and/or character you'd be auditioning for with this particular song - be specific if you can
⭐ Water
No experience level required. Come as you are, bring the song you've been sitting on, and let's work on it together.
