Here is an opportunity to paint ‘Clouds and Waves’ that achieve a realistic look. A method for painting scenery will be introduced, including colour, tone and brush techniques. Participants will receive guidance in painting a supplied image, a seascape at sunrise.

No previous experience is necessary. All materials are provided, so just turn up and take your finished masterpiece home.

Morning tea provided.

Detailed Description of the Workshop

The main components of an image is light, composition and moment. The image will be presented on the day along with the reasons for this choice. The important aspects to be considered in the choice of an image for creating an interesting scene, will also be discussed.
There will be the opportunity to personalise the image with your own choices of colour in line with the tonal method introduced. The importance of light and shadow is essential to lend a painting depth. Guidelines will be given by the tutor on how to best accomplish these important aspects.
There will be an introduction to a variety of methods of applying acrylic paint to the canvass. Detailed instruction in colour, tone and brush techniques will be given and how these essentials work together in creating an image.
The use of a texturiser product will be introduced and applied to the painting. Recommendations for the paint materials will be discussed.
The desired outcome for the workshop is for participants to become more aware of one process for painting scenery. Also, to create a memorable and beautiful scene that will be a reference for you to continue developing your acrylic painting skills. Most importantly it is anticipated that the morning will be enjoyable, exciting and memorable.
