DAY 1 Roman Walk - The soul of Trastevere

Rome has many faces. Trastevere is its most human one and the morning is the best time to find it.

We start at Piazza Colonna and walk through some of Rome's most iconic spaces: Piazza Navona, Campo de' Fiori, Piazza Farnese, before crossing into Trastevere.
Here the city is still waking up: cobbled alleys quiet, light low and golden, the sound of fountains the loudest thing around. We visit the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere, one of Rome's oldest and most beautiful churches, its golden mosaics glowing in the morning light.

Throughout the walk, your local host brings the city to life with the stories, the details and the insider knowledge that turn a stroll into something you'll actually remember.
This is not a guided tour in the traditional sense: it's a conversation with someone who lives here and knows how to make a city reveal itself.

Along the way, a stop at Bar San Calisto: the kind of place Stanley Tucci seeks out when he's in Rome, and locals have been going to for decades.
A coffee or a mid-morning drink, a table on the piazza, and the feeling of having seen Trastevere the right way.

We walk back to Piazza Colonna in time for lunch. A few of our favourite spots in the area will be recommended so you can choose where to sit down and enjoy the rest of the morning at your own pace.
