Manual Handling Training

About
This hands-on training is required Annually for all PEH staff.
The training takes 1.5 hours to complete and is provided by Healthcare Australia (HCA).
Here is some more information from HCA on what to expect:
"This course covers the safe manual handling of patients and equipment.
Course Objectives:
- Demonstrate understanding of safe manual handling of people, equipment and/or objects without injury to the worker or the consumer.
- Identify and minimise risk to self and others within the healthcare environment.
- Comply with the Safe Patient Handling method of Manual Handling and the movements and techniques recommended.
You must be physically able to attempt competency in all the tasks required to participate in class and be signed off as competent.
Appropriate footwear and clothing must be worn for training, eg. no open toe shoes, high heels, thongs.
Please arrive 10 minutes before the course start time."
