Shaping Learners-Beyond Numbers: Mathematics in Years 3 & 4

This is an information session for Year 3 and 4 families that explores how mathematics learning extends far beyond number knowledge. We will unpack the interconnected strands of mathematics, discuss how students develop understanding through the Concrete-Pictorial-Abstract (CPA) approach, and highlight the important role of reasoning, problem-solving, thinking and metacognition in building confident and capable mathematicians. Families will gain insight into how mathematics is taught in the classroom and how they can support their child's learning at home.
