In 2026 The Jesuit Mission Bazaar will be held at Saint Ignatius College Riverview. We invite students in Rock Bands from Schools/Colleges to register to compete in our 2026 Battle of the Bands.
REGISTRATION CLOSES MIDNIGHT THURSDAY SEPT 10
BAND CHECK-IN TIME: 1.30pm at side of stage
Each Band to prepare two songs of their own choice:
● Song #1 for the Heats
● Song #2 for the Final
PRIZES:
● 1st Prize: $400 voucher from Big Music
● 2nd Prize: $200 voucher from Base Music
● 3rd Prize: $100 voucher from Adlib Music
EQUIPMENT PROVIDED:
- PA system with foldback
- 2 x Vocal microphones on stands
- 2 x Guitar amplifiers
- Bass amplifier
- Keyboard with amplifier
- Drum kit
Bands will be expected to bring their own guitars.
JUDGING CRITERIA
- THE FUNDAMENTALS /10
The “total package” - the overall band sound, look and cohesiveness as a unit.
- STAGE PRESENCE /10
Moving around & using the full stage, interacting with other band members and the crowd.
- TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY /10
Technical proficiency on each instrument; full, clear notes & steady tempo start to finish.
- SONG CHOICE /10
Songs highlight the band’s strengths. Band captures the style and spirit of the song.
- PROFESSIONALISM /10
Preparation of gear and ready to begin on time.
TOTAL: /50 points
