Sydney Beyond Fencing is excited to continue the Beyond Challenge into the 26/27 season - a competition series designed to give our young fencers more opportunities to compete, learn, and grow together.
The U11 and U13 foil and épée events provide a fun, supportive environment where young fencers can develop a basic understanding of competition while experiencing its excitement; connecting with fencers from other clubs and strengthening the fencing community

U13: 8:30am · U11: 1:00pm
Venue: L1, 20 Herbert Street Artarmon
Entry fee: first entry - $40;⋅Second entry - $30
Entries close: Thursday 3 September
Format
U11: poules of 3 hits over 2 minutes; direct elimination to 10 hits across three 2-minute periods. Blade sizes 0–5 permitted.
U13: standard FIE format.
Mixed poules may be formed if female entries are low, with separate direct elimination tableaux. Medals are awarded to the top 4. The Directoire Technique reserves the right to adjust the format without prior notice.
Eligibility (age as at 1 January 2026)
U11: fencers born 2015–2018.
U13: fencers born 2013–2017.

All fencers must report to the Directoire Technique no later than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Late arrivals may be scratched from the competition without refund.
All fees are non-refundable. We reserve the rights to amend the registration process without prior notice.
