ZAHALKAWORLD: a Masterclass with Anne Zahalka

 

Join acclaimed artist Anne Zahalka for a special masterclass in studio photography, exploring the creative possibilities of models, props, lighting and backdrops.

In this hands-on workshop, Anne will share insights into her artistic practice and creative process, guiding participants through the creation of a staged photographic image using the immersive backdrop featured in ZAHALKAWORLD: an artist's archive. Inspired by Eugene von Guérard's Ferntree Gully in the Dandenong Ranges (1857), the backdrop offers a unique setting for exploring storytelling through photography.

Participants will be invited to respond to the landscape through ideas of identity, belonging and connection to place, considering how their own relationship to the landscape might shape the story they create.

You're welcome to bring personal costumes or props to incorporate into your photographs, with a selection of additional items provided on the day.

Please bring your own camera. No previous photography experience is required.
