Each session begins with a short, child-friendly educational component led by Poppy, who is excited to share her passion and knowledge with other curious kids, before moving into plenty of hands-on crafting.
WEEK ONE: MUMMIFICATION & CANOPIC JARS
Children will discover Ancient Egyptian beliefs about mummification, why it was so important, and how the process worked, before becoming apprentice embalmers themselves! They’ll work together to “mummify” a giant teddy bear, deciding which organs need to be removed and where they belong.
Then, it’s time to get creative, making their own canopic jars using air-dry clay to take home.
Designed to be fun, creative and educational — perfect for kids who love history, making things, or simply learning something new with friends.
