Built for the realities of mining - not the classroom
An intensive two-day program for supervisors, superintendents and those holding statutory positions at mining operations. Participants work through real hazard scenarios, apply WHS legislation, conduct risk assessments using industry tools including Bowtie methodology, and build the decision-making skill their role demands.
What you will learn
■ WHS legislation, duty of care and the role of a statutory supervisor
■ Apply the hierarchy of controls to select effective risk controls
■ Consult with workers and communicate risk outcomes to all parties
■ Maintain compliant WHS documentation and risk registers
■ Systematically identify hazards across the work environment and team tasks
■ Facilitate risk assessments using Bowtie, JHA and risk matrix methods
■ Report incidents, escalate unacceptable risk and document correctly
■ Audit risk management processes and implement improvements

Day One - Legislation & Hazard Identification
Duty of care and statutory obligations, systematic hazard identification across the work environment, and the hierarchy of controls applied to live site scenarios.
Day Two - Risk Assessment & Reporting
Facilitating Bowtie, JHA and risk matrix assessments, consulting the crew, escalating unacceptable risk, and maintaining compliant records and risk registers.
Investment
Option One - $600 AUD - Training Only: attend the training and receive a Certificate of Completion
Option Two - $1000 AUD Training + Assessment: attend the program, review content provided online, complete the formal assessments and if assessed competent receive a Statement of Attainment for units RIIRIS42E and BSBWHS411*.
