It's Not You ... It's The Pose
Do you avoid photographs because you never know where to stand, what to do with your hands or how to position your body?
This relaxed, practical workshop will help you feel more comfortable and confident in front of the camera, whether the photographs are for your business, your family or everyday life.
With more than 20 years of photography experience, Kirri Garvey is passionate about helping women over 40 see that they are still every bit as beautiful as they have always been. She understands that many women become increasingly uncomfortable in photographs as they get older, and believes that feeling confident in front of the camera is something that can be learned.
In her 60 minute interactive session, Kirri will teach you simple, repeatable techniques you can use whenever a camera or phone comes out. You’ll learn how to:
• Find your preferred facial side
• Position your body and arms
• Use posture and your chin effectively
• Stand confidently in group photographs
• Create a more flattering shape without changing your body
• Feel less awkward and more natural in photographs
This won’t be a presentation where you simply sit and listen. Kirri will demonstrate each technique, and you’ll have the opportunity to practise with a partner and take before-and-after photographs on your own phone so you can see the difference for yourself.
You don’t need to be photogenic, know how to pose or feel confident before you arrive. That is what you are coming to learn.
Please bring a fully charged phone and wear clothing you feel comfortable moving in.
Places are limited to 20 participants so everyone has time to practise, ask questions and receive guidance.

Maybe It’s Not the Pose… Maybe It’s the Pants
Sometimes you can nail the pose, find your best angle and still wonder why your outfit doesn’t look quite right in the photograph.
In this fun, practical 30-minute session, colour consultant Belinda will explain how clothing creates visual lines and shapes. You’ll discover how waistbands, necklines, sleeve volume, hemlines and proportions can change the way an outfit photographs.
Belinda will share clever styling choices to help you dress for your own proportions, without hiding your body or following ridiculous rules about what women over 40 “should” wear.
Because sometimes… maybe it really is the pants.
