13th Annual Morongo Golf/Lunch Reunion

GOLF  4 Person AMBROSE followed by Lunch. Arrive at 8.00am for a briefing outside the pro shop. 1st group of golfers will tee off at 8:30am. See below for Ambrose explanation.

LUNCH will be at approximately 1.15pm and incudes a drink on arrival. 

AMBROSE is a non-threatening game and allows all standards of golfers to play together irrespective of ability. It’s a lot of fun and will hopefully encourage those new to golf.

Explanation:

Choose a team captain who is familiar with Ambrose. She can then make the necessary decisions and be responsible for scoring.

Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected and all other players pick up their ball and place it within one club length of the best ball. Each person then hits a second shot from the same spot. The best shot is again selected. This continues until the ball is in the hole.

On the putting green the best ball is marked and the other balls are played from within one hand span of this position.

One score is thus recorded on each hole. This is the sum of the best shots used throughout the hole.

Your group has four chances to hit a good shot. It certainly takes the pressure off the less skilled golfers.

There is one additional requirement. During the course of the round all players’ drives must be used three times. So, if you have a beginner golfer in your group it may be prudent to use their drives early so as not to pressure them as the round concludes.

In a team of 4, the combined handicap of all players is calculated and divided by 8 to arrive at the team handicap. This is then subtracted from the Gross Score of the Team to arrive at the Nett Score. If you don’t have a handicap and would like to join in the fun simply advise me how long you have been playing golf and I will allocate a suitable handicap for the day.
