Step aboard a heritage train and journey through the historic Goldfields countryside aboard the **West Goldfields Railway**.
Our railway operates two distinct timetables, offering different excursion experiences depending on the day of your visit.
## 🔵 Blue Timetable — Monday to Thursday
The **Blue Timetable** operates from Monday to Thursday and features our shorter heritage railway excursions.
### Wendouree – Smythesdale Return
Travel from **Wendouree to Smythesdale and return**, calling at Haddon along the way.
This is a shorter journey through the western Victorian countryside, ideal for visitors wanting to experience the heritage railway without committing to the full-day excursion.
**Journey:** Wendouree → Haddon → Smythesdale → Haddon → Wendouree
## 🟡 Gold Timetable — Friday to Sunday
The **Gold Timetable** operates from Friday to Sunday and offers our full-length excursion to Skipton.
### Wendouree – Skipton Return
Travel the full length of the West Goldfields Railway from **Wendouree to Skipton and return**.
The journey travels through Haddon, Smythesdale, Scarsdale and Linton before reaching the historic township of Skipton. Passengers have an opportunity to explore Skipton before boarding the return service to Wendouree.
**Journey:** Wendouree → Haddon → Smythesdale → Scarsdale → Linton → Skipton → Linton → Scarsdale → Smythesdale → Haddon → Wendouree
## Your Ticket
Tickets are valid for the **entire excursion selected at the time of booking**.
Trains may stop at intermediate stations along the route, but **tickets are not sold for individual sections of the journey**. Passengers must hold a valid ticket for the complete excursion.
Please select the correct timetable, excursion and departure time when booking.
### Before You Travel
Please arrive at your boarding station at least **15 minutes before departure**. Our heritage trains operate to a published timetable and cannot normally be held for late passengers.
Services may be operated by steam or diesel locomotives depending on the day and are subject to locomotive availability, operational requirements and other circumstances.
