About
The English Department invites all students of Year 11 General English and Literature to attend the Brisbane Writers Festival on Thursday 8 October 2026 (Term 4, Week 1).
This excursion presents an exciting opportunity for students to engage with established authors, storytellers, and literary professionals while gaining valuable insights into the craft of writing. Students will attend festival events and a featured presentation by a key facilitator, providing exposure to a range of writing styles, techniques, and creative processes.
The experience has been selected to support students as they prepare for the creative and analytical writing demands of Year 12 English. It will also encourage a deeper appreciation of reading, writing, and storytelling as essential life skills that foster creativity, communication, critical thinking, and empathy.
