Year 9 Production 2026 - Age Is Revolting

Age is Revolting is a 2024 comedic and heartwarming contemporary play written by award-winning British-Armenian playwright Abi Zakarian. Developed as part of the National Theatre’s Connections Festival, the story uses a magical, time-bending premise to explore the generation gap, empathy, and what it truly means to grow old.

When a group of school kids rebel against their boring music lesson they hit the wrong note and magically transform into their 80 year-old selves…and now live in a care home. Suddenly age, and their understanding of it, feels very relevant as they begin to confusedly navigate their way back to the present; no longer older, but maybe just a little wiser.
