About
Basketmakers of Victoria Inc. is happy to have Terri Aldridge from Western Australia conduct a one-day workshop at The Cottage in Wattle Park, Burwood.
Terri will help you take coiling and stitching to new and exciting places.
With a strong focus on recycling and a wealth of experience, Terri will encourage you to explore the possibilities that emerge when a basket becomes a teller of stories, a keeper of stories.
Beginners will leave with skills to continue their practice at home, while experienced weavers will have the opportunity to indulge in creative and sculptural forms.
All materials will be included in this one-day workshop.
Terri was a board member and volunteer at Katherine Regional Arts and has a background in social work. She lives in Western Australia where she weaves with Ragbag Women. You can see more of Terri’s work at ragbag women on Instagram and Facebook.
Terri: “I was introduced to weaving by the master weavers who live in the Northern Territory Community of Barunga. They became my friends, employer and now family. Using recycled materials is my way of harvesting, preparing and caring for country.”
