We would love to welcome our TransFOURmer families to Wurar Ruwi to celebrate the learning and hard work from last term’s Super Unit — Sharing the Planet and How We Organise Ourselves.
You may remember seeing the beginning of our planning process at our Student-Led Conferences. Since then, our students have been very busy bringing their plans to life! Each group researched a chosen native organism with the goal of creating a habitat that could help attract and support these organisms at Wurar Ruwi. Students investigated their organism’s needs, food chain and life cycle before researching which plants and habitat features could best support them. They tested the soil, considered sunlight and shade, investigated water availability and carefully planned how their plot could become a thriving habitat.
Of course, real-world projects don’t always go exactly to plan! With seasonal and plant availability presenting a few challenges, students had to adapt, problem-solve and make new choices while keeping their organism’s needs at the centre of their decisions.
Since then, they have prepared their plots, planted, watered, mulched and created small habitat spaces using natural materials. Now, after all that researching, planning, problem-solving and getting our hands dirty, it’s time to share the finished plots with you!
We warmly invite you to join us as students proudly showcase their plots, explain the thinking behind their choices and celebrate what they have created.
We can't wait to welcome you and share the TransFOURmer's hard work!
