Love Your Bookshop Day 2026 at Dymocks Melbourne!

WE’RE SHAKING THINGS UP!
Love Your Bookshop Day is coming… and we’ve got a little something up our sleeves.

This year’s theme is Shake Up Your Shelf: Ask a Bookseller! And you know we love a good play on words… so naturally, we're taking the word 'shake' and, well... running with it!

On Saturday 10 October, we’re turning the bookshop into a very bookish Milkbar, because apparently recommending books wasn’t enough fun on its own.

Amongst the fun you can enjoy our:

1.  MAKE YOUR SHAKE MILKBAR Mix your own clues, follow the trail and see if you can crack our bookish treasure hunt.
2.  SPIN & SHAKE Feeling indecisive? Let the wheel decide your fate. Spin for a mystery book recommendation — with a little treat to sweeten the deal.
3. MILKSHAKE HIDE ’N’ SEEK We’ve hidden milkshakes around the store. They’re not real milkshakes. Obviously.
Probably.
4. Where's Wally Hunt - find Wally and collect a little prize!
5. Collect a Personal Penguin (while limited stocks last) with the purchase of two Penguin titles!
6. Add to the 'Shake It Up' community book recommendations board! Or, take a recommendation or two!

AND - we've got a secret something for Dymocks Booklover members! But you'll have to wait for the good news!

And if you’re feeling brave, ask a bookseller to shake up your shelf with a recommendation. Tell us what you usually read, what you absolutely don’t read, or simply give us the dreaded “I don’t know what I want, but I want a good book” brief. We’ve got you. Come for the books. Stay for the chaos.
