About
Topic: Cognitive Load and Assertive Communication.
Delivered by: Jacob Polglase, Wellbeing and Support Coordinator
The session explores how workplace pressures, fatigue, stress, and competing demands affect cognitive capacity and communication. Introduction to the PACE graded assertiveness model—Probe, Alert, Challenge and Emergency—and practice using it to raise concerns clearly and respectfully in different scenarios. The emphasis of this session is on proactive colleague-to-colleague communication, not clinician-to-patient or conflict resolution skills.
The session is very interactive and usually lasts between 60-90 minutes. I always hang around after to chat and answer any other questions.
Supper from 6.30pm
