Testimonials
1. I’m glad this course was done over 6 weeks as it gave the opportunity to reflect on each session and implement new skills. It was great to get the feedback from others each week. Intensive courses can be great, but I believe having the time between each session was invaluable to my learning.
2. This course is something I wish I did straight from university and prior to actually starting my role in community. There were so many tips and tricks that would have made the last few months a lot easier to handle and make the transition from student to OT a smoother process. Karen and Cheryl provided a wealth of knowledge in the role of a community OT and it was a great course! Would recommend to any new graduates or those transitioning to a community role.
2. AT and Home mods - Interventions in People’s Homes
The prescription of AT and minor home modifications requires thorough and comprehensive assessment, trial and clinical reasoning by the prescribing OT. It at times be both rewarding and challenging, with the need to draw on clinical evidence, legislative requirements such as the Australian Standards plus consideration of the need of the client and their circumstances. This series of webinars will equip community-based OT’s with the skills and knowledge to assess, prescribe and identify suitable AT and minor home modification solutions effectively. Each webinar will provide a scaffold of learning, using practical tips and process checklists to build competency in the AT and minor home modifications space.
