The Bushwackers & Bullockies Bush Band

THE NEWPORT FOLK & FIDDLE FESTIVAL AND THE SUBSTATION PRESENTS
THE BUSHWACKERS & BULLOCKIES BUSH BAND

***This performance has almost sold out!  There will be standing room only tickets available at the door, from 7pm on Saturday 2 July, should there be no tickets available on this site***

The renowned Australian folk band, The Bushwackers, began life in 1971 as  The Bushwackers and Bullockies Bush Band.

Their first LP, The Shearer’s Dream, was recorded and mixed in two days in 1974.

Now, thirty-seven years later, the members of that band are getting together to finally launch that album with a one-off show at the Newport Folk Festival. Dave Isom,Dobe Newton,Tony Hunt, Mick Slocum and Jan ‘Yarn’ Wositzky.

The band will play the fourteen album tracks as well as other traditional and original songs and tunes. Plus they’ll be regaling the audience with that other Bushwackers and Bullockies Bush Band specialty – recitations, and stories of their travels and origins.

This will be a great night and a celebration of the music and the original recording of the Original, and Iconic Folk Band – The Bushwackers and Bullockies Bush Band!
Not one to be missed!
