Etiquette, Negotiation and Cultural
Etiquette, Negotiation and CulturalWHAT: In collaboration with The Committee for Geelong (insert their logo + website) Australia China Business Council - Victoria is pleased to invite you to a lunchtime briefing by Ms Kate Ritchie and Professor Charles Qin.
The event will focus on the skills, protocols and etiquette you need to be aware of when negotiating with Chinese and help you to avoid the pitfalls.
For those involved in or considering business with China, avoid social gaffs and communication problems and get off on the right foot with your Chinese counterparts. This seminar will help you in a practical way.
Professor Charles Qin is one of the founders of Chin Communications. An interpreter and translator working in all sorts of exciting places from the United Nations, Olympics, APEC and G20 meetings, as well as for presidents and prime ministers, universities and businesses, for over 20 years he has helped businesses in Australia to develop their China expertise – through cross-cultural understanding and by getting the language and messages right. He has provided high-level language support to all levels of government as well as many small businesses during this time.
Kate Ritchie has a degree in Chinese from La Trobe University, and worked as a teacher in China before helping establish the specialist Chinese Translating and Interpreting business Chin Communications with her business partner, Professor Charles Qin. It was a prescient decision as China was not on the radar 20 years ago.
Over the last 22 years, Chin Communications has expanded its business presence in Australia, adding to its range of services and even providing translation and interpreting in many other languages. For two decades, Kate has been solving communication problems for people and companies doing business with China, providing advice on how to best communicate their message so that it is understood and well received and culturally correct.
Seating is limited, please book early! Members will receive priority consideration.
